Cyber Essentials, sorted for you

We check your setup, fix what fails and get you through certification. You get the certificate without the headache.

The problem

The certificate is simple. Getting there is the bit people stall on

Cyber Essentials is a self-assessment questionnaire, which sounds easy until you reach a question about your firewall configuration and realise nobody in the building knows the answer.

  • A customer or a tender has asked for it and there is a deadline
  • The questionnaire assumes you know how your network is set up
  • Answering honestly means admitting something fails, and then it has to be fixed
  • An attempt last year stalled halfway and nobody picked it up again
  • Your current IT provider will not commit to getting you through it

What you get

What you get

  • A readiness check against the five controls

Firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection and security update management, assessed against how your business actually runs.

  • A plain-English fix list

What passes, what fails and what has to change, written so you can read it without a glossary.

  • We fix the gaps

We do the remediation work rather than handing you a list. The price is fixed once the check tells us what is needed.

  • Help with the assessment and submission

We complete the questionnaire with you, gather the evidence and submit it.

  • Cyber Essentials Plus preparation

If you need the audited version, we get you ready for the technical assessment and the device testing.

  • Renewal reminders

Certification lasts twelve months. We tell you before it lapses and handle the renewal.

How it works

Four steps, and we do most of them

  1. 1

    Readiness check

We assess your devices, accounts, firewalls and patching against the five controls.

  2. 2

    Fix list and fixed price

One document: what fails, what we will do about it and exactly what it costs.

  3. 3

    Remediation

We do the work, scheduled around your working day where it affects people.

  4. 4

    Certification

Questionnaire completed, evidence gathered, submitted. Then the certificate.

  • IT support, security and bespoke software from one team since 1989
  • We will tell you honestly if you are closer than you think and need less work than you expected

Common questions

How long does it take?

It depends on what the readiness check finds. A business already using MFA and patching properly can move quickly. One running unsupported Windows versions has real work first. The check tells you which you are within days, not months.

What does it cost?

We will not quote a number here, because it would be guesswork. There is a certification fee paid to the scheme, set nationally and based on your size, and our fee depends on what the readiness check turns up. If you are already most of the way there it is a small job. If you are not, it is a bigger one, and you should know which before you are asked to pay for anything. That is what the readiness check is for, and the fix list that comes out of it carries a fixed price.

Do we have to be an IT support client?

No. We certify businesses who have their own IT team or another provider. It is more straightforward if whoever supports you is willing to make the changes we identify.

What is the difference between Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus?

Cyber Essentials is a verified self-assessment. Plus adds a hands-on technical audit by an assessor, including testing a sample of your devices. You usually only need Plus when a contract asks for it by name.

What if we fail?

The readiness check exists so that does not happen. We find the failures before the submission, not after.

How long does the certificate last?

Twelve months, then it is renewed. The scheme requirements are updated periodically, so a renewal is not always a formality, and we handle that.

Start with the readiness check

You will know within days exactly what stands between you and the certificate, and what it costs to close the gap.
